Sports/fighting game with career mode?

I just finished Smash Court Tennis 3 and Fight Night Round 3.
I loved the way you could customize your characters and get better as you progress.Are there any more nice games like that? I want more of it... Sports/fighting game with career mode?
you should get monster hunter freedom2 it has alot of custmization from the weapons to the armor your charater wears.Sports/fighting game with career mode?
Well, there is MLB 08's Road to the Show mode, where you can spend points on making your character better.
Yeap also the NHL series is decent as is tiger woods, which allows you to get better, buy hundreds of new items including gold clubs, shoes, gloves, glasses, etc etc, earn money and sponsors.......what else oh madden 08 also lets you improve your players stats through training and point allocation.
Stay away from the MHF series haha whatever you do..But for unlockables and addictive career modes I'd say go for Gretzky 06, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee and The Con. All will provide you with hours of fun. LOTR: Tactics isn't half bad either..
Thx guys.. Yeah I've tried Monster Hunter and didn't like it at all. Too shallow, even for a hck'n'slash.
I might look into the Golf games, thanks!Any more ideas? Just too narrow the picks, I don't really like team-based sports like football, ice-hockey and such.

well that really narrows the field down......u have played virtul tennis 3 which imo is the best of the tennis games around for the psp....so really that only leaves the golf..... So then ive got hotahots 1%26#58804;d 2 and out of the 2 which are identical apart from the second having more characters and some more courses........its a great game fun and has good online but it isnt a simulation its characters are animated and often childish.....if thats your cup of tea then go with that.....if you want a golf simulation then tiger woods is what you are after....its graphics are very good and then rendering of characters and actual courses are well done, its completly customizable.....you can change the shape of the whole body...ie full it out make it thinner,add beards, tatts etc you play the same courses as the other us pros, with training events etc to boost stats, you earn fedx points to allow you to play in the majors and winners events etc....basically its more favorate golf and sport game for the psp....... If you want a detailed rewarding golf sim thats your game if you want a more light hearted game go with hotshots.....

As for Virtual Tennis 3, I tried it but I really like Samsh Court Tennis 3 better, it's less arcady.

cool if you like golf tiger woods is an awsome game, ive played 07 and 08 and although theres little difference try and get the latest one as it has more courses, slightly improved graphics and some interesting mini games.anyway let me know what you think of it......only real downside is that theres hardly ever anyone online with it.....

Try The Warriors, pretty much like GTA, in fact, from the same guy who made GTA, but I don't know if the story mode is like a career mode, it's a good game though.
