I was wondering if it is a good idea if Sony put a PSN Icon on games just so we know if it has online features. Microsoft and Nintedo have it why not Sony?

If you mean a indicator on the back of a PSP game that says if it has online or not, they already have one. It says the type of online play (ad-hoc, infastructutre, or both) and how many players.Online Icon?
I mean the icon like a Nintendo blue icon on the front of the game cover. Mircosoft has the Xbox Live icon.
I think thats a great idea %26 i dont know why Sony isnt doing it already. Just look at playstation 2 online games there marked on the front saying ''With Net Play'' So surely if they do it to playstation 2 games then they could do it to psp games as well.

Wipeout Pure hands down..
Wipeout Pure is cheaper, but you can get more fun out of Wipeout Pulse. And if you want a CAR game id get Flat out: Head on.
Pure and Pulse are both right around 20$ these days. Pulse does have online though. Other than that I'd go for the maps on Pure but thats just me. Either way, can't really go wrong between the two..

The Slim PSP has a smaller battery, but the life is equivalent to the Fat PSP. However, if you take the Fat battery and put it in the Slim PSP, the Slim will have better battery life.
Anyway, I much prefer my Slim PSP to the Fat PSP, but I'm a law-abiding individual. The Fat PSP is great for people who like to tinker with their systems and bend the rules...
I prefer the slim because, it's lighter ( in weight ), you can use skype and connect it to your tv. I has the same if not more battery life than the phat. The only thing I don't like about it is, the silver circle behind gets scratched to easily. :(
The major difference here is the load time. Slim loads twice faster. Just compare the load time of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 on both psp.

Then my analog stopped making contact with the inside, so I tried to seal it with Crazy Glue. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad mistake. It will function now, but the analog goes NUTS. So now, I'm trading in Crisis Core (IRONY!), Metroid Prime 3, and a few other games with my PS2 to get me a sexy Kratos PSP. Then my horrific experience will be over. So, I have a release date phat PSP, and its been reliable to me until I found out that the right shoulder button occasionally doesn't work. Its nothing extremely annoying, but it does make me angry when I can't rotate my selection bar in Crisis Core. I looked into the PSP bundles, and decided i would want the Ice SIlver PSP, but I'm not sure which silver bundle to get. Hmm a fun RPG Action/Adventure game would be Untold Legends: The Warriors Code.. its a pretty amazing game, you can upgrade you'r armour and theres some pretty cool boss's. It's basically a really easy game to beat but i dont regret not playing it 8)

Why don't you just buy a PSP and keep your DS. Then you have the best of both worlds.
You need to think of 5 reasons yourself. Do some research than decide if you think the PSP would be better for YOU than the DS is.
You can also hook-up your PSP to your T.V and play games on the big screen.

OkI've downloaded the demo for the psp..looks different could be an interesting game.So micro ?.99 the umd ?7.99 the umd has more levels ...has anyone played either.And which one is the best?Is the umd well worth the extra money?Echochrome or Echochrrome micro for psp?

Splintercell essentials.....worth it?
Hey guys ive got a chance to pick up a copy of splintercell essentials cheap...........the problem is do i even want to pick up a copy? Look the game is not a peice of crap. for a PSP game its pretty good and fun to play the fisrt time around. the graphics are almost PS2.only problem is that the controls gets kinda annoying after a while but if you but your time in to it. it will grow on you. the games is worth playing on the go but only a once play through. after that you might want to get something eles.no extras in the game only for 3 mission you can unlock if you find the rigt codebut its a good game pick it up if its really cheap like 9.99 or so.Splintercell essentials.....worth it?

i LOVE that game. it was one of the first games that i got with my first psp a couple years ago and i gotta say i think i have outplayed it lol. i think i have beaten that game like 40 or so times now. great game worth the buy. if you liked the other ones you'll like this one despite some control adjustments.

Dj Max coming STATESIDE!!!!
Finally dj max portable, a rhythm based korean game, is coming to the states in the form of DJ MAX FEVER. I strongly urge everyone to get this game when it comes out. Its my favourite game on the psp. Its going to be a combination of Dj max 1 and 2 with over 100 songs. ok in socom fire team bravo 1 there are a bunch of unlocks that you can get with socom 3 for ps2 but i dont have a ps2 so is there any way i can get these unlocks? cause it sucks that you gotta have another game/system just to unlock this contentsocom 1 unlocks
Sorry. Just another marketing deal for Sony. In order to get the unlockables you will have to purchase a PS2...The same happened to me with Splinter Cell for GBA a LONG time ago. You had to have a GameCube in order to get the other missions, which sucks because it seems they only give you part of the game. Who really knows I'm still surprised by some of the things the PSP can do, games like the syphon filter series, God of War, Crisis Core, Monster Hunter series, Tekken DR, Ace Combat X really show off the power of the PSP. Developers are always going to push for more until the next PSP is released.
Just look at the quality of graphics seen in Birth By Sleep. As great as those look, I still think developers will set the bar even higher. ;P
It all depends on how much effort the developers put into it........and also as developers get accustomed to the hardwear of the psp they will be better able to manipulate the system to sqeeze alittle more out of it, but i dont think we will see much btter than what gow offered up, it was a visually stunning game,as good if not better than some of the better ps2 titles.......and thats really saying something for a handhelp devise.

I've got around ?00 to spend on a PSP, i'm looking on the Gamestation site and I can buy A SILVER slim PSP with Final Fantasy for ?39. Oh for the love, that symbol is for pounds, the main currency of Great Britain! Anyway, 139 is a good deal for the silver Slim with FF (I'm assuming it's Crisis Core). The 4GB Mem stick is a very good idea, if you plan on putting any multimedia on there. As for UMD movies, if you already own the DVD, you can get ahold of software that will rip your DVD to a PSP format video file (mpeg4), thus removing the point of getting it on UMD. monster Hunter 2 is fun, but if you can get God of War, I highly recommend it!

what do i need for ps1 games
i can put my psp memory card into the pc,but when i get demo's from the psp store they dont work,(i have to get them from psp fanboy)so i am worrying if i buy one it wont work so do i need a usb,because my friend has one but doi need a cd that comes with it or something,thanks.what do i need for ps1 games

okay so just today I got my first psp together with ratchet and clank. What I would like to know is ho do I pay for downloadable games? Is there a card for sony points like there are for wii points and microsoft points? Also can I download games directly onto the psp or do I need a computer? PSP Slim
Hi guys, i was just curious about the PSP slim, I wanted to get an Ipod Video earlier this year but i figured that i would wait till christmas so that i dont have to pay 300$. But then i thought of the PSP because my friend has one and i thought that being able to listen to music, watch movies, get on the internet, and game every now and then sounded like a lot better deal than the Ipod. It also, from what i read seems to be cheaper than the Video, i kno that it doesnt have as much memory, but im not going to need 30GB for just music. So what im wondering is if im getting the PSP slim to play music and videos and surf the web is it worth it over the Ipod?? I cant see myself gaming on it that much just because i have the 360, but if anyone here could help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.PSP Slim
As much as I love my PSP, I have to admit that it's a game machine first. Sure it plays movies and music but probably not as well as a v-iPod. On the other hand, the iPod can't play any games..... You'll have to decide which you want to do more of.PSP Slim
Well, you can't get on the internet on iPod (unless you get an iPhone, which is like $600). PSP plays movies and music as good as anything else, you just are limited to about 8 gig, as apposed to the 40 you can get on an iPod (but seriously nobody could possibly so that they filled that much space and listen to all of the songs, well maybe someone). Also the PSP can play amazing games, with graphics close to, or equivelent to PS2, which is a great thing you can't do on an iPod (I know you said you have an xBox, but you can't play Sony games on it or take it in your pocket).
Remamber before you go out and buy a psp that you cant just take all of your i tunes song and upload them
Keep in mind that although the PSP is $169, you'll have to add another $50 for a 4 GB memory card (provided you shop around for the cheapest memory card). That comes to $220 which is only $20 less from getting a 30GB iPod video. The PSP is a gaming machine at best. And trust me, trying to find 4GB of music and get to it on a PSP is a nightmare. Also, if you're a music fiend, the iPod will always go along with you cuz it fits in your shirt pocket. The PSP is huge. Most of the time, I don't even bother bringing my PSP with me because I'm too lazy to haul it around.
From experience I must say.... I love my iPod
If your not into the gaming part I would go with the Ipod. The music and video are secondary parts of thepsp.

well i was gonna get the psp slim if i got one which i think gamespot said weighs 3/4 less than the old psp (not sure thats correct or not) but it just fascinates me that im able to get on the web with something like that and i have my own laptop with wireless internet in our house, but gaming on the go is another really cool feature that i would miss out on with something like an ipod, but the downfally with the ipod is that im paying for so much space that im not even going to use, 4gb is enough for games and various other things... about how much do the psp games cost?? and i really appreciate the feedback that everyone here has given me, and is killzone on the psp any good?? because killzone on ps2 and legend of dragoon are my favorite games ever. There's no point in getting a 30GB iPod when most people don't even come close to using up that much space. Even if they managed to fill it up, how often to they really watch/listen to all of that? Just fit in 50 of your favorite songs and you're good to go.. and like you said, you can do SO MUCH more with a PSP than you could with an iPod. PSP is worth the price whereas the iPod is way overpriced for what it actually does. And this is coming from an avid Apple and iPod user.

I was thinking the same thing (ipod or psp) . But I just checked, in one folder in my music collection that is a little under 4gb I have 33 albums, thats got to be like 350 songs or so. Movies are around 700mb.Can you put mp3'3 in the psp or xvid-dvix movies? Or does the psp have its own format?
The PSP understands regular mp3s, but it requires a specific movie format. It only understands SP mp4 and AVC mp4. AVC is also referred to as h.264 (I think). The PSP also requires some specific resolutions. The encoders all know which resolutions to use.

Absolutely. It's a great game with the highest production values of any PSP game ever, the best story of any PSP game ever, the best soundtrack of any PSP game ever.... It's just immensely great. In the whole FF game rankings I'd put it on par with 10 :) Buy it now now now now :twisted:

Yeap a fantastic game, the sotry is gripping with a likeable main character, who grows on you, the rest of the cast are also worthy of the storyline, the fighting is unique for a ff game with it being realtime, what i liked about it is that it still has the moves and magic that makes a ff game, by here you have to select and use them on the run, it also has a very interesting levelup system which is done using a random real which has pictures and numbers which if matching level up magics or player, the graphics are very good and the cut scenes are truly amazing. The length felt right for me i finished it doing about 25% of the optional missions in around 25hrs. the only flaw i found with it(minor) was the optional side missions which to me where rather repeditive with no real interaction with others just a way to level up and find rare items etc and i found it hard to motivate my self to complete them all........a great game and worth every penny spent on it.

Yeah, it's a great game that does a good job at being the prequel to such an amazing game. It will keep you occupied for a good 15 hours or so.

Absolutely. It's a great game with the highest production values of any PSP game ever, the best story of any PSP game ever, the best soundtrack of any PSP game ever.... It's just immensely great. In the whole FF game rankings I'd put it on par with 10 :) Buy it now now now now :twisted:

Yeap a fantastic game, the sotry is gripping with a likeable main character, who grows on you, the rest of the cast are also worthy of the storyline, the fighting is unique for a ff game with it being realtime, what i liked about it is that it still has the moves and magic that makes a ff game, by here you have to select and use them on the run, it also has a very interesting levelup system which is done using a random real which has pictures and numbers which if matching level up magics or player, the graphics are very good and the cut scenes are truly amazing. The length felt right for me i finished it doing about 25% of the optional missions in around 25hrs. the only flaw i found with it(minor) was the optional side missions which to me where rather repeditive with no real interaction with others just a way to level up and find rare items etc and i found it hard to motivate my self to complete them all........a great game and worth every penny spent on it.

Yeah, it's a great game that does a good job at being the prequel to such an amazing game. It will keep you occupied for a good 15 hours or so.

Well for Christmas I'm going to get a PSP, I want a white one, and 3 games,
I want to get Lego Batman, Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
I am also saving some money until Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is released so I can purchase that in 2009.
The thing is I'm not sure is if Star Wars: The Force Unleashed or Lego Batman will be decent on the PSP?

Got PSP about a week ago, 3 quick questi ...
1. I have about 3 weeks to go back to best buy and get the 2 year replacement plan for $29.99. Should I do it?2. Is it normal for disc spinning sounds to occur sometimes?3. I played the chains of olympus demo and there were about 4 really laggy parts. Also, it froze once and I had to shut off the psp. For number 3, no, but it is normal for that demo. The actual game happily did not have the same problem.

PSP Original, PSP Slim n Lite.... Whats ...
Hello!Despite being (in the words of my girlfriend) a proper grown up who is far too old to be playing video games; I grew up playing video games on an Amstrad 464 that loaded from a cassette tape and I guess I never really grew out of the habit; I got my first Gameboy in 1989 and my most recent one (an SP) about four years ago in Tokyo, when on holiday, but have played a lot of PS and PS2 in between. I've managed to lose both my Gameboys, and decided to treat myself to a new handheld, even though I'm supposed to be saving to put a deposit down on a house. I had a look in GAME at PSPs, they had the old one secondhand for ?9 with a free game or a secondhand slim n lite for about ?0 more, or a brand new slim n lite for ?29. I asked the manager to show me all three for comparison and I really couldn't see the difference between any of them. Okay, the slim is a tiny, weeny bit slimmer and a smidge lighter but I don't see how that makes a difference to anything. It seemed a no-brainer to buy the ?9 original, what with the warrantee offered by GAME and additional warrantee I get on everything I buy on my credit card.Why would anyone chose a 2nd hand slim n lite over a 2nd hand original with that price differential? I don't get it.....Also, what's a PSP 2000 or a PSP 3000? PSP Original, PSP Slim n Lite.... Whats ...

I think it's a preferential thing really; some people like the slim, while I personally like the heavier version. I will admit however that I do like that the square button feels better on the slim versions than the fat version, but that alone isn't enough for me.
I suggest holding and playing a game or two on both and see what you think.

Well it depends on which game and color you like better. They both have a mem stick and a game and a movie. So it depends on which game, movie, and color you like better. I personally like the Daxter Bundle better, but you might like Madden more than Daxter.

The problem with LCS is that it's bland and samey, not really offering anything new on the GTA formula and worse, having a fairly boring cast of characters and storyline. Vice City Stories is the much superior game in terms of writing. Gameplay-wise VCS is more varied and challenging, having some fairly creative and amusing missions. I found LCS also had some stability issues and in general didn't run very well. VCS is a stark improvement over LCS in every way.

the lack of support to the US PSN. I was looking over Japan and Hong Kongs store.....and they have MGS, RE1 and 2, Metal Slug, Dino Crisis, etc.... and we have nothing. I don't understand the thought process that sony has.....why do they get so much and we get so little...?I don't understand....

If you think the US PSN store is bad, you should have a look at the European PSN store.
the store could be better...it gives no support to caribbean islands, so if u are like me, u don't get access to the store because your country is not there....that is really sucky

Well you ahould do some investigation work into what features the psp have, after that ask yourself what you want and need out of a handheld console and then make your desision, there isnt much point in coming into a psp forum and asking if you should get a psp.....most of us are alittle bias, you know what you want and need in a console, its much better if you make your own choice....goodluck

i would suggest the gow bundle.
I dont know I kinda regret buying mine sometimes. There is no harddrive or anything built into the system so you gotta go buy memory which fills up very quickly unless u spend lots of money for big memory sticks. The game selection is kinda meh for me there's just not many games that are like ''I MUST BUY THAT GAME!!!''. There are some good games I am not gonna deny that but if you have a home game console or PC it really doesnt have that many stand out titles IMO. The system can get very uncomfortable at times but that's how it is with all handhelds. The screen is very bright and very high quality. Speakers could be much louder but are decent, I suggest you get some over the ear or outside noise reducing headphones they work wonders!Overall the PSP is a decent handheld and a must buy if you do not own a home console or you are going on trips or are out all the time. Not so much if you own a gaming console or PC.

Killzone is a great buy. so is Tekken, Metal Gear Solid PO and Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. they are all $20 so they are cheaper then Crisis Core or God of War but still very great games. also if u are into UMD movies, a lot right now are 5 or 10 bucks :)

16gb is largest currently, with a 32gb on its way in early 09. DO NOT BUY THEM ON EBAY, do your research, because the ones on ebay are mostly phony, and only hold half as much data as they claim. Also, they corrupt easily, and some don't hold specific types of files. I would only purchase them from trusted websites if I were you, as I purchased my official 8GB at BestBuy a few months ago, and it took forever just for them to locate which cabinet they were locked away in. The larger the memory card, the more the secure they keep them.
8GB should work fine, 16GB if you plan on having lots of music and maybe a few movies. I have a 4GB, I mostly use it for the gamesaves(which take up very little space), game demos, some music, and the odd video.

War of the Lions: Help Needed
Ello, I bought FFT yesterday and it's a great game so far, but it's rather frustrating. I've been trying to proceed through the story, but occasionally I find myself getting my butt served on a sliver plate. All I'm asking for is a bit of instruction, something to keep my squad strong enough to continue. Thanks.War of the Lions: Help Needed
well u can always go into a random battle like mandalia plains (monsters are easy there) just kill every monster but one then just have every character throw rocks at each other and u still gain exp and jp :D do that a couple of times and your characters will be strong in no time War of the Lions: Help Needed
Yeah, you kill all the enemies and you keep one weak so it will escape from u then you start trowing stone at each other of your comrades to get xp and jp.Remember the xp is to get yourself strong like any other rpg but the jp is the most important thing that you should level in this game. Get that skill called jp up or something like that to get more and more jp, then you can get more jobs and so it goes, there are so many great jobs that you can use. Get monk job and get chakra so you can heal yourself easily. I used monks skills a lot in this game and I still use in some chars to get job lvl

Your going to have to grind a lot in this game. Take the time now to do ALOT of random battles before you go on and make sure you have a plan for the jobs you want and which characters you want with those jobs. All my soldiers are lvl 30 right now and I still get stuck on story sequences, take on random battles as much as possible to get extra JP esspecially if you leanred jp boost to get more for your unit. BATTLE BATTLE BATTLE, it gets much harder but its a rewarding game.
Yeap the other good thing about doing heaps of grinding at the start is that you can master the jobs then go to the next one to learn their skills, i spent around 20hrs grinding at the start of the second chapter, so that basically i had learnt most of the the job skills that i wanted to for each charater(i only use 6 main characters and the others for the tavern assignments) and then settled them in the job i wanted for them, ie monk or knight with duelwield does some serious dmage. Have a balanced team and the games story battles wont be a problem, just remember that the random battles level up as you do so they end up being quite difficult.

The level of the monster you're going to face is equivalent to the highest level of any one of your character regardless if that character is fighting or not.

So I had a GoW Red PSP before, but it was recently stolen. I plan on getting another soon, but I just don't know what color to choose. I know, lol.
I still have all my UMDs except for patapon, which was in the PSP.
So if I got the red PSP bundle again, I would get duplicates of the 3 things that come in the bundle. (SF:CO, GoW, Superbad)

I'm just torn between what color to get. I liked the red one a lot, but always thought the white one was sweet too (I have a white imported Dualshock 3), just never could find them around, besides online. Then I remembered the blue one was coming soon. Just asking for your guys help.

Personally I think the Blue PSP is kinda ugly. I own a Darth Vader Whiteand think it is cool. My other favorite is the Piano Black!

The GOW red psp really disapointed me, I thought the color was a bit lighter, is not that bad but I thought it was different.Ice silver was my second choice but the metallic blue is also very temptingGo for the Ice silver

Purchased the Kratos (God Of War) red PSP...the Madden blue was a little too blue.....celebrity make up
I still have all my UMDs except for patapon, which was in the PSP.
So if I got the red PSP bundle again, I would get duplicates of the 3 things that come in the bundle. (SF:CO, GoW, Superbad)

That is the main reason i worry about buying a PSP, the memory.

what they should do instead of always coming out with new ones, is they should just sell battery covers with PSP game characters on it. i would love to see Big Boss or Lara Croft on the back of my PSP :)

I don't think a new PSP will be out in the next 2-3 years . They just released the Slim.
I hope sony announces a date soon...i was gonna buy a slim but now feel compelled to wait for the new model, i dont really care about the hard drive, id rather use a mem stick, unless they have option for both, from what it looks like no mic and no 2nd analog stick but it is possible to include it without ruining compatiobility with old games...remember the psx it didnt have dualshock and analog to begin with. i do hope they dont make the buttons transparent and so plasticy this time around. they might bring back the irdado u think they are comming out with this version with greater RAM to compliment high graphics anticipated games like agito and dissidia??
