On the Skype on PC I think you can type to people as well as talk but i'm not sure on PSP, and yes I'm guessing you will need to connect to the internet to talk to people all around the world so a WIFI spot would be needed.PSP skype,I got questions

i dont think u can text on the psp skype but u can on the pc one
