broken button pad

Well the ''start' button on my psp is broke, so are most of the buttons on the button pad, and I was woundering if there was any way to start games like NBA live 08 which says press start button to begin. Do I have to buy a new button pad in order to play the games that do that?broken button pad
Define ''broke''. You can't press them, or they came loose? Is it a physical or electronic problem? Because personally, without your button pad or start button, you're basically screwed for playing any game. Not sure if there's a way around the start button at the beginning though, sorry >__broken button pad
You should probably try and get it fixed. When the joystick on the PSP broke, we traded it in for another one. The slim, Madden 09 one :)
Well I can still play games like socom and madden just fine becasue it never ask me to press the start button for anything.I am pretty sure its an electrical problem, because 2 buttons on the button pad work, the voume down button works, fine but the volume up button doesn't work at all. And that button the lets you change how bright your screen is. Maybe I messed somthing up with it while replacing my old broken LCD screen. So do you think buying a new replacement button pad would do the trick?
